Family visas are designed to enable an Australian citizen or
resident in Australia to be reunited, in Australia, with his/her relatives from overseas. As such, most family visas are for permanent residence in Australia, although a few are granted for temporary or provisional residence.
All family migration visas require sponsorship by an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. Some will also require a mandatory assurance of support and bond payment.
*Applicant can be in or outside Australia
